WES Commemorates World Aids Day

The Government of Western Equatoria together with its partners and the entire public commemorate the World Aids Day under theme ‘Zero New infections and zero discrimination.’
 
State Coordinator for People Living with HIV Aids Amos Misa said that almost 4,700 people registered living with virus formed their groups to discuss ways to live positively and to protect themselves, Anisa Radio reported.
 
Mr Misa thanked the State Government of Western Equatoria for providing relevant peace through security that enabled the people living with HIV Aids to cultivate and feed themselves.
 
Catholic Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussalla of Tombura Yambio Diocese was present at the occasion.
 
He appealed to the Government and International and National NGOs to focus on the deadly disease.
 
Bishop Hiiboro said the Catholic Church and other Churches in the state took as their duty to campaign against HIV and Aids.
 
Acting Governor Gipson Bullen Wand said actions and proper information were needed in order to fight HIV Aids in the State and in South Sudan.
 
Mr Wunde urged all government institutions and partners to insert HIV Aids programs in every strategy plan to fight the pandemic.
