Five scouts from South Sudan were in Hong Kong to participate in a conference revising the movement’s education system.

South Sudan Scouts Commissioner Ladu Said Ali told the press at Juba International Airport on Thursday that the conference resolved to continue revising the scouts’ education Constitution in the USA in 2014.

He added that the conference assessed the impact of scouts’ education system on communities and especially on young people.

Mr Ladu revealed that limited training and lack of funds were the chief challenges scouts faced in the country.

The commissioner commended the office of the Vice President for sending the five scouts to Hong Kong.

He appealed for more support to promote scouting in South Sudan.

Vice President James Wani Igga is the chief of scouts in South Sudan and the movement’s headquarters are based at Kogi Village of Lobonok Payam in Central Equatoria State.
