The Director General of Western Bahr El Ghazal State Ministry of Local Governance and Law Enforcement said the recent reshuffle of its officers was a routine exercise done every two years to improve performance.

Malik Adam Abdalla explained that senior law enforcement officers are supposed to be transferred to new locations every two years and that junior officers may spend a maximum of six years in one location, Voice of Hope reported.

He added that the recent reshuffle of senior officers, including executive directors, was a normal and constitutional exercise to improve performance under the Local Government Act.

Mr Adam cautioned fellow officers to distance themselves from politics, because such practices will undermine their administrative role.

He said politics and administration would never combine together according to ethics and norms.

The Director General complained of lack of budget to finance development projects due to ongoing austerity measures.

He revealed plans to establish the state Customary Law Council and Court in days to come.

Mr Adam called on candidates who were interviewed early this year to come to the ministry on Monday with the necessary and original documents for their final appointments.
