South Sudan Mine Authority Regional Coordinator warned citizens in Yei River County and beyond to guard against dangers of collecting metal scraps including unexploded ordinance.
Joseph Ramba Simon said they registered many incidents of explosion leading deaths of innocent people, Easter Radio reported.
Mr Ramba appealed to people to inform the mine authority before checking metal scraps or natural resources for sale or any purpose.
He discouraged the collection of metal scraps for money, adding that there were many unexploded ordinance in the ground.
Mr Ramba cautioned citizens to learn tough lessons from those who lost lives due to explosives.
