Tonj South County Town Council regulated prices of local products in markets.
Tonj Mayor Marko Mabior told Don Bosco Radio after meeting the town council committee on Friday that traders at Tonj markets were selling local products at very high prices.
He declared that fish would be sold between ten to 20 pounds, charcoal between 15 to 20 pounds and bundle of grass between ten to 15 South Sudanese Pounds.
The Mayor said they would reduce the price of diesel from 180 to 160 Pounds per 20 litres.
Before the declaration, prices in Tonj markets were climbing daily making residents’ life very difficult.
