Eastern Equatoria Deputy Governor acknowledged Torit Catholic Diocese for outstanding service delivery to the people since the liberation struggle.
Jerome Surur Gama commended the Church on Wednesday at dinner party organized to welcome Caritas Torit managing director, Emmanuel Radio reported.
The Deputy Governor described the establishment of Caritas with partners’ support as a milestone achievement and acknowledged long time support of Caritas Luxemburg and Caritas Switzerland to the people of South Sudan.
He pledged government’s support to the institution to offer social services to the people of the state.
Deputy Governor Surur paid tribute to the late Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek for incepting Caritas Torit.
Torit Catholic Diocese Apostolic Administrator Monsignor Thomas Oliha said Caritas is the Charity wing of the Catholic Church.
