Prices of commodities returned to normal in Juba markets except Konyo-konyo that still has slide difference from others.

Undersecretary for Commerce in the Finance Ministry Simon Nyang Anei told the press on Friday after leading a team to assess prices of commodities that prices now are normal, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said Nimule corridor opened and Kaya road was also operating normally.

Mr Nyang called on the national security and the police to monitor prices in various markets after the government sorted out the Dollar issue.

He urged security organs in the ten states to monitor prices of goods in all markets.

Land and Housing Undersecretary Alikaya Aligo Samson said the survey revealed more information that would enable the government to organize for more periodic market assessment to avoid consumer exploitation.

He said there was need to regulate prices as Christmas approaches because many people would need a lot of materials from the market.

Engineer Aligo added that the ministry, Stanbic and Central Banks would embark on three hundred million US Dollars to supply goods to markets.

He urged businessmen not to increase prices unnecessarily.
