A medical director in Tore Payam Primary Health Care Centre of Yei River County called on the government to motivate health workers to minimize loss of lives in the community.

A medical director in Tore Payam Primary Health Care Centre Peter Yak said most of government health workers were not financially motivated to the extent of neglecting patients, Easter Radio reported.

He pointed out that money used in funerals were more than what could be for motivating health workers.

Mr Yak urged national and state health authorities to regularly visit health centres and supply drugs because facilities still face inadequate medicines.

He appealed to the government and health partners to remedy the situation.

The medical director revealed that Tore Payam Primary Health Care Centre recorded few cases of infant mortality in the last three months.
