Faith-based groups in Torit on Wednesday expressed concern to Constitutional Review Committee over lack of civic education among citizens.
Torit Catholic Diocese Peace and Justice Coordinator John Opi Severino called on the Committee to sensitize the local population, Emmanuel Radio reported.
He said the committee shared their ideas during a workshop on part one of South Sudan Transitional Constitution.
Fr Opi said the workshop also reviewed the Bill of Rights, the age of marriage for girls and rights of women.
Catholic Relief Services representative Kiden Gladys noted the need to include the views of people in the Constitution.
Ms Gladys observed the importance of the community participation and involvement in the Constitution making process.
The Constitutional Review Committee stressed the need for every citizen to have a copy of the Constitution, read, understand and share it among one another.
