AMDISS to open training institute in Juba

The Association of Media Development in South Sudan or AMDISS is planning to open journalists training institute in Juba to equip journalism aspirants in the country.
 
AMDSS representative Stephen Tut said the institute would award certificates, diplomas and bachelor degrees to different categories of people.
 
He said the training would be done in partnership with the University of Juba, Upper Nile, Bahr El Ghazal and other foreign universities.
 
Mr Tut disclosed that a curriculum was already developed and submitted to the ministry of Education.
 
He said University of Juba Departments of Communication cannot accommodate all young people aspiring for journalism. 
 
Mr Tut said added that AMDISS was exerting more efforts to send journalists outside the country to get better training.
 
He disclosed that AMDISS will next week send one female journalist to Nairobi for training. 
 
Mr Tut made the remarks on Saturday during the eighth batch graduation ceremony of Bakhita Radio.
