The SPLM-N rejected the government’s arrangements to carry out a polio vaccination in rebels controlled areas.
Heiban County SPLM-N chairman Yonan Al-barut Ajur said the rebels wanted the vaccines to enter into South Kordofan and Blue Nile via Kenya and Ethiopia, Voice of Peace reported.
He added that the government of Sudan refused it.
Mr Al Barut affirmed that the SPLM-N maintained its point that no humanitarian assistance should come directly from the government side.
He disclosed that the government was intending to deploy more troops at the borders with the pretext of the vaccination campaign in South Kordofan and Blue Nile.
Mr Al Barut explained that Khartoum’s claim of taking responsibility to provide vaccination to the SPLM-N control areas was a ‘clear lie’ following the government’s indiscriminate bombing of civilians.
He added that the SPLM-N appealed to the international community to assist civilians in rebel held areas.
In 2012, the government deployed heavy troops at the border of South Kordofan with South Sudan blocking any humanitarian agency into South Kordofan.
