Governor-elect of Unity state said the situation in the region calmed down after the turmoil caused by the election results that left three people dead.
Taban Deng told the press at Juba International Airport yesterday that his state is now normal after unprecedented electoral incidents.Mr. Deng explained that it was important to restore calm in order not to affect the production of oil that accounts to 90 percent of the national revenue.
Mr. Deng accused two people he did not name to be behind postelection violence.
He added that calm returned to the state after the two elements left either to Juba or Khartoum.
Mr. Deng called on all citizens and parties to work together for the success of the referendum since the elections are now finished.
Mr. Deng is in Juba to attend a two-day SPLM workshop for newly elected governors that started today.
