CES pledges to address unemployment

Central Equatoria Labour and Public Service minister pledged to address unemployment despite many problems in the state.
 
Lilly Kapuki Paul said the ministry would inspect all hotels within Juba town to create a room for youths’ employment, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
She noted that unemployed youths pose a big security threat to the ministry.
 
Ms Kapuki disclosed that the pension law was out and soon they will start paying pensioners in order to promote and employ youths.
 
The minister urged the directors in various ministries to work hard to address the numerous challenges affecting the state government.
 
She challenged that most of the recruitments were done in unprofessional manner by not putting the right people in right positions.
 
Ms Kapuki added that the national parliament was working on the labour law to ensure putting the system in place.
 
The minister said the national council of ministers directed Labour and Public Service ministry to screen and employ the right people.
 
She appealed to directors in all ministries to collaborate with the labour ministry in identifying right persons during employment process.
 
The minister was speaking during a meeting with heads of civil service, state director-generals and heads of unit to find out amicable solution for addressing problems facing the state.
