The chairperson of the Sudan People Liberation Movement for Democratic Change or SPLM-DC called for togetherness in nation building.
Lam Akol Ajawin said on Sunday during a press conference that building the new nation lay in the hands of every citizen in the country, Bakhita Radio reported.
He said the role of the opposition in the country was not just to accuse the government but to point out mistake and find possible solutions.
Dr Akol added that the opposition in the last three years was in the parliament to help put things move correctly.
He noted the need to define the social diversity of the country.
Dr Akol said the question of socio-economic development needs to be revised to address challenges facing the country.
He added that an economy that does not generate income will not bring development.
The opposition leader added that security remained a top challenge in the country because without a peaceful environment development could not take place.
He urged the government and the opposition to work hand in hand to achieve development in the country.
Dr Akol said it was time for togetherness and consensus building to move the young nation to higher standards.
The SPLM-DC chairman returned to Juba from Cairo last Saturday after three years of self-imposed exile.
