A civil society organization called ‘Rally for South Sudan’ said the United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS is messing up in the country without protecting civilians.

The organization organized a rally in Juba to condemn the atrocities that took place in Twic East County of Jonglei State two Sundays ago.

Organizer Mading Ngor said UNMISS failed to be neutral in Twic East.

He added that as Chapter Seven did not work in South Sudan it should be taken out of UNMISS mandate.

Mary Kaje Lorna called on UNMISS to be fair on its reporting in order to be part of the solution of things happening in the country.

The head of Jonglei Caucus at the National Legislative Assembly John Jok blamed the entire community of the state for not stopping the bloodshed.

The rally strongly condemned David Yau Yau’s recent atrocities which left 80 people dead and another 80 injured in Twic East of Jonglei State.

The organizers put out banners saying ‘End Chapter Seven, UMMISS leave Jonglei immediately’ and ‘Yau Yau is a terrorist.’
