Fourteen women suffering from obstetric fistula received free treatment at a catholic hospital in Lakes state.
The women were treated at Mary Immaculate Hospital, run by the Comboni Missionaries in Mapuordit, Yirol West County.Dr. Rosario Iannetti, Medical Director of the hospital, told Radio Good news that 14 women from Jonglei, Unity, Warrap, Western Equatoria and Unity States received free treatment for the disease last week.
Dr. Iannetti described the corrective surgery programme as successful.
Obstetric fistula is a serious health problem that affects women due to complications at child birth.
