The Vice President of the Republic joined in the celebration of Global Hand-washing Day on Monday in Juba, a campaign aimed at motivating and mobilizing millions around the world to wash their hands with soap.
James Wani Igga said many people do not live longer due to carelessness and negligence of hygiene, Bakhita Radio reported.
Mr Igga explaining that clipping fingernails and all hygienic practices are paramount for good health.
He told youths not to consume alcohol or smoke cigarettes calling them bad habits.
Mr Igga urged the pupils who attended the Global Hand-Washing Day celebration in Gudelle to teach those who don’t know importance of hand washing and hygiene.
Minister of Electricity, Dams, Irrigation and Water Resources Jemma Nunu Kumba said washing hands with soap can prevent spread of diarrhoea and cholera.
She urged people to keep good hygiene and sanitation.
