Prison dentist in Yambio, Western Equatoria on Friday urged parents to care for dental problems in the family.

Yambio Central Prison Dentist Miidipako Alfred Flori said many people were not aware of their tooth problems and how to prevent or cure them, Anisa Radio reported.

He said some parents contribute negatively to their children’s dental problems by feeding them with rotten food and sweets without teaching them how to regularly clean their teeth.

Mr Flori advised both children and adults to brush their teeth twice or three times a day.

He urged the Government and health partners to provide medicines and equipments for treating dental diseases.

More than 100 people including prisoners, wardens and citizens from January to October reported dental problems to Yambio Prison Dental Department.
