The President of the Republic wrote a letter to African Union or AU demanding the conduct of the Abyei Referendum in October as proposed.
Foreign Affairs Minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin told press that the letter was received warmly without immediate resolution.
He said he handed over the letter to the AU Peace and Security Council chairperson Dr Lamina Zuma, requesting an extraordinary summit on the Abyei final status.
Dr Barnaba expressed optimism that the letter would yield positive results.
