Action against Hunger or ACF International called on the government to better lives in the country.
ACF Country Director Sirak Mehari Weldemical told CRN on Thursday that it was the government’s primary responsibility to improve livelihoods and minimize the impact of disasters including floods.
He urged the government to increase efforts and commitment to invest in lasting and sustainable development projects.
Mr Mehari advised international and national agencies to consider implementing long term projects instead of emergency action.
Mr Mehari revealed that ACF International was providing nutritional services, production skills and supply of seeds for self-reliance in Northern Bahr El Ghazal and Warrap states.
ACF International Country Director made the statements in an excuse interview with CRN in Juba on Thursday to mark World Food Day.
