A Kakwa elder called for unity among clans in Yei River County to resolve inter-clan land issues peacefully.
Michael Modi made the call during the meeting convened in Ombasi Boma to demarcate the borders between Goli and Longira communities, Easter Radio reported.
He said there is need for unity and understanding from both sides to resolve border issues.
Elder Modi added that border issues are crucial all over the world, pointing out that many communities and nations fight over it.
He urged the authorities to imprison those who fight over land because its solution requires peaceful compromises from both clans.
The elder also asked the authorities to jail some youths who take alcohol and resort to violence.
Elder Modi noted that some clans and nations valued expansion policy and resorted to conflict.
Ombasi Boma consists of seven clans that include Longira, Goli, Ayakaka, Longamere, Jombu, Gimunu and Mingale with Longira and Goli conflicting over border issues.
