UBG students dissatisfied with Lesturers strike

University of Bahr El Ghazal students expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing staff strike.
 
Most students called on the national government to quickly address the demands of all public university lecturers, Voice of Hope reported.
 
Jaj Yen Jaj, a forth year student of Economics supported lecturers strike.
 
He called on the national government to address the issue of lecturers and fulfil their demands.
 
Abuk Lodovicko, a first year student of Veterinary said she is now going for three years without seeing the lecture hall due to continuous delays and strikes.
 
She pointed out that delays forced her fellow students to abandon studies and get married which greatly affects girl education in the country.
 
Malka John from the same faculty added that the strike affected their welfare and that the strkes encourage female students to look for other alternatives.
 
She questioned how could stakeholders encourage girl education and at the time force girls out of schools.
 
Diana Martin, a first year student of Medicine complained that she paid three thousands South Sudanese Pounds and now the academic calendar is disturbed. 
 
She urged national authorities to have merciful hearts for students because they are the backbone of the country.
 
Lectures were supposed to begin on September 30 but students were surprised with lecturers strike on Monday.
 
All the five public university lecturers are on a sit down strike demanding better pay and reinstatement of allowances.
