Majority want Death Penalty to continue in South Sudan

Majority of participants in a debate organized by South Sudan Law Society on Thursday want the Death Penalty to continue in the country.
 
South Sudan Law Society chairperson John Clement Kuc said Death Penalty cannot be abolished over night because social and economic problems are some factors forcing people to kill, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
He urged the ten states to find out causes of crimes and resolve them.
 
A member of parliament in the National Legislative Assembly John Luk Jok said Death Penalty is legal in the Transitional Constitution.
 
He said some careful studies needed to done before abolishing Death Penalty because societies need to be protected. 
 
many other speakers supported the continuation of the Death penalty to avoid many criminals from killing innocent people countrywide.
