St Daniel Comboni’s life inspired many South Sudanese to lead humble life and be faithful Christians.
 
Comboni Secondary School Deputy Headmaster Daniel Morris said St Daniel brought the Church and schools to South Sudan and Sudan which uplifted lives of many, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
He said St Daniel suffered from several diseases for the sake of good life to the people of the two countries in particular and central Africa in general.
 
Mr Morris added that they want to remember the life of St Daniel and follow his footsteps.
 
Comboni Secondary student Nelson Waden said he learned from the life of St Daniel the spirit of love, hard work and carrying of the cross of Jesus.
 
He urged entire the population of Juba to adopt the life of St Daniel Comboni of loving one another and working together.
 
Comboni Missionaries Provincial Superior in South Sudan Danielle Moschetti said currently there are more than 100 Comboni missionaries in different parts of the country.
 
He said they are preparing to commemorate St Comboni Day and that this year’s celebration is special because it is the tenth anniversary after his canonization.
 
Fr Moschetti said the late Pope John Paul the Second was impressed with a large number of people in Khartoum when he visited Sudan in 1993.
 
Comboni Missionaries and Institutions will on Thursday celebrate the tenth anniversary of St Daniel’s canonization.
