St Bakhita Health Centre in Yei Catholic Diocese on Monday opened an admission ward.
The Centre senior medical doctor Sister Veronica Raskova told Easter Radio that they opened the ward after six nurses returned from a professional training in Wau.
She said now they are ready to admit patients and expand heath services.
Sr Raskova clarified that the ward has 40 beds excluding septic and aseptic departments.
The Nun encouraged people in Yei to come early for treatment because they observed that people are dying in villages because they do not take medical treatment.
She said the Centre now does not have theatre for surgery, but will admit patients and delver services for 24 hours.
Sr Raskova disclosed that the diocese planned to upgrade the Centre to a hospital.
The medical doctor explained that the Centre collaborates with other public and private centres to resolve health problems including surgery.
