Kapoeta East conference resolves to reduce cross-border conflicts

Neighbouring communities of South Sudan, Uganda and Kenya conducted a four-day conference at Kapoeta East in Eastern Equatoria and resolved to reduce cross-border conflicts.
 
The conference which aimed at strengthening interdependent relationship for sustainable cross-border peace in South Sudan, Uganda and Kenya also resolved the need for the three governments to deploy forces to crime hot spots, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
The conference also recommended the three countries to identify, investigate and prosecute suspects.
 
One of the resolutions was the need to construct water points and gazette grazing areas for pastoral communities across the borders to share.
 
The conference resolved to establish joint markets at Pire, Kamion and Nawountos to create good relations among communities of the three sisterly countries.  
 
The conference also recommended continued peace dialogues, disarmament and improvement of infrastructures.
 
Claudio Suleiman Liling of Eastern Equatoria signed the resolutions on behalf of South Sudan and Komol Joseph Midi, Kaabong District signed on behalf of Uganda.
 
Torit Catholic Diocese Vicar General Arkangelo Lokoro signed as a witness of cross-border peace.
