IRI briefs Eastern Equatoria on opinion poll findings

The International Republican Institute or IRI on Wednesday briefed Eastern Equatoria State on national public opinion poll survey conducted in April and May.
 
IRI Officer Stephen Allen said they visited all states and briefed executive, legislative organs and political parties on the findings of the poll, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
He disclosed that IRI conducted three surveys on opinion poll in South Sudan since year 2011.
 
Mr Allen noted that democracy is a process and that South Sudan is on the right democratic path.
 
He disclosed that majority of South Sudanese believe their lives improved after the independence.
 
Mr Allen said the last survey indicated that 52 percent of South Sudanese felt that the country was heading to the wrong direction.
 
They cited rampant crimes, insecurity, food shortage and poverty as some major problems facing the country.
