Partners reported 43 suspected cases of measles in Malakal County, Upper Nile State. 
 
UNOCHA weekly bulletin said ten of 15 samples collected from patients tested positive for measles were children aged between six and 18 months and are receiving treatment at Malakal hospital.
 
It said the state Health Ministry reactivated national and measles taskforces to coordinate response operation and is strengthening surveillance at facility and community levels. 
 
The bulletin said the ministry launched a mass measles vaccination campaign targeting over 31,300 children in Malakal County. 
 
it said between January and May, outbreaks were recorded in Greater Equatoria states, Greater Bahr El Ghazal and Upper Nile states. 
 
Measles is a highly contagious viral disease, which affects mostly children and is transmitted via droplets from the nose, mouth or throat of infected persons.
