Authorities in Lainya County of Central Equatorial state this week arrested  opium smugglers and confiscated more than 150 kilograms.

The arrest was a result of close supervision following a local order County Commissioner Huda Micah Laila issued to prevent drugs flowing to Juba, Easter Radio reported.

An anonymous security man said drugs were collected in different counties, payams and Boma and taken to damage people and create insecurity in Juba.

He appealed to the state government to tighten checking points to reduce crimes in the city.

One of the suspects Makol Mayan admitted his mistake saying unemployment condition forced him to opium smuggling business.
