A leading official said workers suffer more injustices in the private than in the public sector.

The chairperson of Southern Sudan Employee’s Justice Chamber, Elizabeth Manoa Majok, told SCR News that workers in the private sectors across southern Sudan are being exploited.

Ms. Manoa said many employees work without contract; in non conducive working conditions with employers lacking consideration for their performance.

Ms. Manoa revealed that it is up to the Labour Office to cater for workers in the private sector.

She explained that the Labour Office needs to pay proper attention to the private sector in the region.

Ms. Manoa said paying local staff lower wages than foreigners who do some job is the most serious form of exploitation in South Sudan.
