BEACON trains Church leaders on food security, climate change

Building Eastern Africa Community Network or BEACON is training Church leaders on food security and climate change in Juba.
 
BEACON Country Focal Person George Taban Tawad said the training was to enlighten church leaders on the importance of climate change and food security, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
He said knowing the climate change in South Sudan was very important because its negative impact affects all citizens.
 
Mr Taban added that the training shall help Church leaders and organizations to address climate change issues.
 
BEACON Secretary Rebecca Tanui said climate change can hinder development of country that depends on agriculture.
 
She explained that climate change like drought and flood negatively affects human lives.
 
Ms Tanui expressed the need to prepare earlier to enable organisations address community policies on environmental management.
 
The BEACON training drew together 25 participants from difference Churches and organizations in Juba.
