Tonj South County Commissioner on Monday visited Tonj Central prisoners.
William Wol said his visit aimed at acquainting himself with difficulties facing prisoners, Don Bosco Radio reported.
He said he found 306 inmates in the Prison and that he would meet judges to see how many cases are tried daily.
The Commissioner urged all inmates to be patient while waiting for trial.
Tonj Central Prison Director Ding Angok told the Commissioner that the prison needed renovation.
He said they started buying bricks for increasing the fence and constructing latrines for prisoners.
Mr Angok urged Tonj South priests to visit the prison every Saturday and Sunday to pray for inmates.
