Maridi community in Juba rejected the idea of Western Equatoria Governor and some MPs to create Mangou payam under Eva County State.
Community chairperson Joseph Tito Gordon said the idea of Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro and some MPs was a deliberate attempt to divide people of Maridi, Bakhita Radio Reported.
He accused the Governor of causing hatred between Balanda and Azande tribes over the boarder of Nagero and Tambura Counties when he was the Commissioner of Tombura during the liberation struggle.
Mr Tito added that Maridi community strongly rejected the move in all possible terms.
He warned that if a payam is created it will cause hatred among tribes of Maridi and destabilize peace in the area.
Mr Tito described payam creation in Mangou as a politically motivated and calculated move.
Maridi County elder in Juba Waiwai Philip Marlow quoted the President of the Republic as saying there should not be any formation of new administrative zone in the country.
He said they may accept if the law allows but that payam creation should come from the people.
The entire Maridi community members in Juba expressed their rejection over the creation of Mangou Payam on Monday.
