Christ the King Cathedral Parish Priest in Yei Catholic Diocese said South Sudanese deserted God and forgot God’s help during the liberation struggle.
Tom Poru Martin while delivering his homily on Sunday, pointed out that during war days people in the bush and exile were asking God everyday for peace, but forgot God after getting peace and independence, Easter Radio reported.
He clarified that many people returned home and forgot God, never go for prayers in the Church and some want to sell out the Church of God.
Fr Poru cautioned that something worse will happen to wrong doers, they better repent before it is not too late.
The Parish priest said the European Union refused to send money to South Sudan because of corruption.
He told land grabbers either to negotiate with land lords or leave the land they grabbed before God punishes them.
Fr Poru called on public money embezzlers to stop corrupt exercise, calling on people killing innocent citizens to cease from those evils acts.
The parish priest urged people not wait for punishment from God since there is still time to repent.
