National Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration or DDR Commission on Thursday launched child reintegration book in Juba.

DDR chairperson William Deng Deng described the book as very important because it has elements of child reintegration, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said the book aimed at informing funders and the public to support reintegrated children.

Mr Deng appealed to the public to get involved in fundraising to economically integrate children to their communities.

UNICEF Chief Child Protection Fatuma Ibrahim said the book was to give support to children and adolescent who were child soldiers and vulnerable in communities.

She added that the programme will support 50 percent of children who were parts of armed forces and other vulnerable ones in communities.

Ms Ibrahim explained that the book was a roadmap for children socio-economic assistance.

She disclosed that in 1999 the programme was unsuccessful because it did not consider children economic reintegration.

UNICEF supported DDR Commission to launch the child reintegration book.
