South Sudan Red Cross trains volunteers in Yei

South Sudan Red Cross on Wednesday concluded training its volunteers on emergency response in Yei.
 
South Sudan Red Cross Coordinator David Dut Aboor said they were training volunteers on urgent response on emergency cases and first aids to equip them with knowledge, Easter Radio reported.
 
He said South Sudan Red Cross has a mandate of training people on emergency response in the country.
 
Dut mentioned that the training drew volunteers from the Greater Equatoria region including Yei, Torit and Yambio.
 
First -aids coordinator Yohanis Johnson Odhok said the exercise was important in building the capacity of the team with practical skills to save accidents’ victims.
 
He said the 25-member emergency team for Yei County was ready to response to any emergency.
 
Mr Johnson cited road accidents as emergency cases and that disaster occurrence wer some cases beyond human control in the country.
