VACCINATION VITAL TO PREVENT DISEASES, SAYS MOTHER

A lactating mother said vaccination of children is important because it protect them from diseases that cripple or kill.

SCR News reporter spoke to Anna John Bashir who brought her baby to be vaccinated.

Ms. Bashir sasid a child who is not vaccinated is likely to be affected by any disease on a daily bases.

She called on the parents to vaccinate their children to prevent them from any disease.

Health authorities launched yesterday a week-long campaign in Juba’s urban area for girls and women from 15 to 45 years of age and for babies under one-year old.

The vaccines defend babies against tuberculosis, polio, diphtheria, measles, tetanus and whopping cough.

Women are vaccinated against tetanus.

Pregnant women and babies who come for the vaccines receive a mosquito net free of charge.
