The Handicap International launched micro grant project to Central Equatoria State Union of Visually Impaired under the theme: ‘promoting an inclusive and barrier free society for the persons with disabilities.’
Handicap Project Officer Bida Mathew said the grant was meant to run three disabled people’s projects, Bakhita Radio reported.
He said their organization put 19 thousand South Sudanese Pounds to each project running for a period of four months.
Mr Matthew said the projects aimed at raising awareness of the disable community.
the Union chairperson Sebit Khabli Ezibon said the launch was to alert the public on problems facing people with disabilities.
He added that the programme would enable disable people to be self-reliant and resolve their problems.
Mr Ezibon acknowledged that the project was launched at the right time.
European Union founded the project supported by Handicap International.
