The new Lainya County Prison Administrator on Wednesday welcomed Commissioner Huda Micah Laila.
Captain Erenio Jada described the visit as important and that the prison faces bad conditions, inadequate medication and shortage of clean water, Easter Radio reported.
He revealed that drug abuse was the major crime committed by prisoners and that other minor crimes include adultery and theft.
Commissioner Huda appreciated the new administrator’s achievement and called for fair treatment of inmates.
Ms Laila advised the prisoners to remain calm and patient.
One of the prisoners Luate Samuel said feeding improved but that poor dormitories, water and medication were challenging issues.
