South Sudan to form Shippers council

National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and East African Standing Committee on Shipping planned to introduce South Sudan Shippers Council to ease transport.
 
Chamber of Commerce Secretary-General Simon Akuei Deng said South Sudan faces a lot of challenges while transporting goods from the East African ports, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
He added that they want to come up with a regulatory body that will be integrated into the regional block.
 
East African Standing Shipping Committee Secretary-General Kenneth Mwige said it was very important to introduce South Sudan to East Africa.
 
He said they want to form South Sudan Shippers Council to organize national importers and exporters.
 
National Transport minister Kwong Danhier Gatluak said the training was very import because it will impart shipping skills to nationals. 
 
He said the Shippers council would ease business and clearance in Mombasa and sort out insurance issues.
 
Mr Danhier admitted roads transport challenges, saying Nadapal-Juba road work will start soon to boost business in the country.
