Central Equatoria Deputy Governor on Friday laid a foundation stone of Freedom International Hospital in Juba.
The hospital is a private initiative to meet challenges of delivering medical services to the growing population, Bakhita Radio reported.
Manasseh Lomole Waya said the new hospital will contribute to solving problems of treating patients abroad.
He said the council of ministers usually discuss assisting nationals with thousand of dollars for treatment in international hospitals outside the country.
Mr Lomole urged young medical personnel to go and help rural communities.
The Director of the Hospital Dario Kuron said the population in Juba swelled rapidly making it hard to deliver medical services.
He said the idea of building the hospital started in 2008 and the government responded positively to the project.
