Libogo-Lasu Payam Garrison commander on Thursday called on the citizens to cooperate with the army in tracing out traitors in the community.

James Makir urged the people to identify wrong elements in communities and report them to the local authorities and the army, Easter Radio reported.

He warned that if the army hear any gunshot they follow it urgently and arrest the culprit to face the law.

Commander Makir called on citizens to maintain peace.

Yei Catholic Bishop Erkulano Lodu Tombe appreciated Makir for urgently disarming civil population.

He said if citizens were influenced by alcohol to shoot guns unnecessarily, they have to face the law because South Sudanese were tired of gunshots during the war.

Bishop Lodu called on communities to stay in peace.

The Commander and the Bishop made the statements on Thursday during Assumption Day celebration at Assumption Parish Lasu.
