Western Equatoria Physical Infrastructure Minister on Tuesday launched an emergency repair of Gumba-Masia road in Yambio town.
Clement Juma Mbugoniwia told Anisa Radio that they decided to dig the road manually because they want to open the trench for water to run smoothly into culverts.
He said the next step will be filling the space with murram and raise the road higher using heavy machines for smooth rain water flow.
Mr Mbugoniwia encouraged people to volunteer revealling that his ministry planned to employee volunteers when they get resources.
He described the road as very important because it was the only road connecting Masia area which has a big population to Yambio town.
Local communities were happy for the maintenance of the road because many people had many accidents and lost properties.
