The legislators chosen by Eastern Equatoria voters are expected to tackle the Food Control Bill, one of the unfinished businesses left by the outgoing parliamentarians.

Adelio Kau Kawa is the clerck of Eastern Equatoria Legislative Assembly. He told Radio Emmanuel that the Food Control Bill is among the most important laws former legislators left unfinished.

Mr. Kau added that the Food Control Bill is among the items that the incoming members of the state Legislative Assembly have to deliberate on immediately after they assume office.

The Food Control Bill 2009 seeks to check the quality of food products and legality of imported consumable goods in order to protect public health.

Mr. Kau said the outgoing state Assembly ended its business with the passing of the policy statements for the various ministries.

Enforcement of Child Rights laws and the need to contract expatriates to boost the health sector are among other government businesses pending at the Assembly.
