Kit Bridge that connects Lobonok community to Juba collapsed leaving citizens stranded at its bank.
Kasarah Margret a resident of Kuruki told Bakhita Radio that she was in Juba and on her way home found the river full, the Bridge broken and could not cross.
She said their village is experiencing hunger because they have to buy food in Juba.
Ms Margret appealed to the government to quickly look into the problem as most of the community treat their sick ones in Juba.
Another Lobonok resident Alfred Pitia said he spent five days at the river bank because it was full and could not be crossed.
He said he is waiting for water level to subside.
Mr Pitia added that many times the community raised concerns to the government but until now nothing is done.
The chairperson of Lobonok community Alexander Sule said the Bridge was built by the army in 1992 to ease movement.
He said the bridge started to break last year and finally collapsed last Sunday.
Mr Sule cited lack of funds to reconstruction the bridge because it is too big for the community.
He said the community tried to collect some stones to make a bypass.
Mr Sule said the UNMISS proposed three million US dollars to construct the bridge but until now there is no budget to start the work.
