Greater Bahr El Ghazal states are set to benefit from ‘people centred’ agricultural project to boost food production.
The project which starts this Month will run in two phases for six years aimed at contributing to national food security.
State Agriculture Minister Lilian Rizik Velentino praised the project and described it as realistic as it involves state stakeholders.
She added that the approach implementers adopted gives hope that the project will meet community expectations.
GIZ Project Team leader Guenter Wessel said once the local farmers are able to produce enough food for their families, the value change project shall be introduce to enable them sell the surplus.
He noted that project is a long term and sustainable one based on agronomy.
The project will focus on improving the overall flexibility of participating rural households.
