Lakes authorities seize expired goods

Lakes state public health authorities on Monday confiscated many expired goods at Rumbek markets. 
 
The expired items included maize flour, cassava flour, beverages, polythene plastic bags and many others, 
 
Public Health Makur Ater Akony told Good News Radio that there were traders who continue to sell expired goods. 
 
He threatened to arrest and take to court those involved in selling expired items.
 
Mr Ater advised the public to dig their latrines and get latrines pipes.
 
He said the office would soon dispatch a team to check on houses which do not have latrines and a fine them to pay 300 South Sudanese Pounds.
 
Mr Ater said the state public health office is putting many efforts to avoid deadly diseases like cholera.
