Tombura-Yambio Catholic Bishop on Thursday met all parish priests under the theme: ‘innovation and being a catalyst in our time.’
The meeting focused on strengthening good relationships among the parish priests and the diocese, realities about the spiritual and social needs of communities in every parish and sustainability of the Church, Anisa Radio reported.
Bishop Edward Hiiboro Kusala expressed happiness at the meeting and the fact that priests all over the diocese came together to reflect on a way forward.
He said he could see joy in priests talking openly and able to embrace ideas brought forward.
Bishop Hiiboro said they agreed to form a fundraising committee in an organized way to avoid confusion in the diocese.
He disclosed that they agreed to draw a calendar for regulating fundraising under a committee accountable to all Christians.
Bishop Hiiboro announced that there would be a family re-union day in Mupoi Parish this year where all parishes will contribute for the building of the diocese.
The prelate urged the priests to have hope, courage, prayer and hard work in unity.
The parish priests earlier complained lack of houses, limited resources and poor communication facilities.
