Western Bahr El Ghazal health authorities rescued 36 babies from HIV AIDS infection during the delivery of mothers living with the virus.
Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan revealed that 36 babies were born negative from positive mothers describing it a big achievement, Voice of Hope reported.
He said HIV AIDs prevalence in the state was growing despite the presence of Voluntary Testing and Counselling Centres.
Last month Wau Teaching Hospital Voluntary Testing and Counselling Centres announced the prevalence of expectant mothers receiving anti-viral drugs to recue babies from HIV AIDS infections.
