The independent candidate for Central Equatoria governor whose whereabouts were unknown since Monday reappeared today at his home in Juba and said he was taken away for personal protection.
Alfred Ladu Gore disappeared on Monday evening after SPLA military police was deployed around his house.Mr. Gore told the press today that he was taken to a safe house for protection.
He added that he was not kidnapped.
Mr. Gore appealed to his supporters to refrain from all acts of violence noting that violence does not contribute to peace.
Mr. Gore said his supporters were expressing their disappointment at the results when the security forces intervened.
He noted that the forces were not provoked.
Mr. Gore returned to his residence in the early morning.
